I am a teacher working with a struggling 8th grade student to increase his reading ability. Novels are a challenge for him, and so I told him we would go to the library and pick one on anything he wanted, as long as it was realistic fiction. He said "baseball"! This novel was the ONLY one available at our library that was not a baseball book on facts, figures, or famous players. We were both hooked within the first 2 chapters and are anxiously reading away to find out the ending. Thanks to the author for helping make my job easier and for sparking a love of reading with my student.
