I really wanted to like this more than I ultimately did. The first five or six chapters are freaking brilliant and had me snickering madly and reading every other paragraph out loud to anyone who'd listen. Sadly, after that it becomes apparent that there's really no plot to speak of, and it mostly devolves into Ellis's obsession with the weird sexual practices he's read about on the internet. Which is really too bad, since the first few chapters really are hilarious. It pains me to say so, but wait for the paperback on this one, get it from the library, or read it in the bookstore -- it won't take you long.
