This cookbook is outstanding in every way. I speak from experience-- I was one of the many testers who worked long and hard with Isa and Terry to make sure that the recipes were perfect and the directions were clear! They are some of the most creative and innovative cooks around, and their food reflects their sublime balance of interesting and comforting.
Some of the best meals I have ever made comes from this book! Those just diving in to the many recipes should keep an eye out for the chickpea cutlets, the seitan picatta, the red lentil and cauliflower curry. . . and those are just a few of my favorite meals. The caesar salad dressing is now a staple in my house! In terms of the deserts, the banana-chocolate-chip bread pudding is amazing, and the rumnog cookies were a huge hit when I made them for friends and family last holiday season.
I hope everyone gets this on their shelf: vegan, vegetarian, or omnivore! It is a worthwhile investment, the food is absolutely sublime.
