I enjoyed this book immensely; it gave me an insight into a story I hardly knew. True History of the Kelly Gang is a wonderful work of fiction, though it hardly fits into that category! Carey paints a descriptive picture of the Kelly gang, bringing together the story of the bushranger into an enjoyable read.

Ned Kelly tells his story first hand, showing the reader through his narrative the hardship of his life. He claims to be a victim of the police his whole life, struggling to survive in a tough world. Ned gives the reader an insight into his world, the life he lived. Pick up this book to be transported back into the past, into a world not so long ago, where bushrangers lived loose in the bush, and Ned Kelly lived his life.
