Jed Mckenna is the real deal for anyone who is serious about getting out of the spiritual merry-go-round and the futile search for the higher self. The self we think we are is non-existent this stated in the OPEN SECRET talked about by many world recognized spiritual teachers. Everything that one normally thinks they are in this life is seen to be in the light of enlightenment just a dream character in a dream. What we think we are is actually an artificial construct of mind. As Jed says "there is no true self and the false self is irrelevant". He does not leave out a higher power but only drops hints such as he says "there are no accidents, but there are gentle nudges and shoulder taps by an unseen hand" This book is a must have if you are a spiritual seeker and want a glimpse of the truth of the enlightenment myth. It is a very good book for the spiritual seekers who are just starting to grasp that nothing can be truly attained in the so called real word of duality. This book is definitely destined to become a classic with people who are interested in discovering the real truth, the open secret, that Jed magnificently surrounds with a story line that may allow even someone new to the search for enlightenment to realize the false self that is very cunningly protected by the illusory ego.Enlightenment is not a goal that we have to attain, we are already that which we seek, we just have to realize it.Jed's book definitely has the power to do that.
