Tolle offers a remarkable piece of insight on how to simply find peace in your own life, as well as others. While obtaining my bachelor's degree in political theory, and with more magnitude following, I found great interest in reading both current and past philosophical works. Most of my focus was with Sartre, Nietzsche, Derrida, Foucault, Chomsky...however, I found myself incredibly fixated on notions of "nothingness" and the theory of "nihilism" (most of which sparked with Nietzsche). A New Earth came to me through my mother, who is an avid Oprah enthusiast. Although skeptical, I began to read this book and could not stop! Tolle has an amazing way of putting seemingly complex questions into a harmonious understanding. Tolle does not subscribe to any specific philosophy or religion, yet he fuses the teachings of religious leaders (i.e. Jesus, Buddha) and philosophers (Sartre, Nietzsche) into a comprehendible masterpiece! Although I agreed with many of Tolle's viewpoints before reading this book, after finishing it (for the second time in a week since receiving it) I have been awakened to a new understanding and way of life. Do you question your "purpose" in life? Do you feel like nothing ever goes your way? Are you unsatisfied with what you have? Then PLEASE read Tolle's A New Earth! This life we have now is all we have, and this book with help you to understand how truly amazing life is!
