I lost 40 pounds in 2006, under the care of the author, Tameira Hollander. She prescribed a new medication that conflicted with one I had been on for years, slowly poisoning me until I ended up in the ER, spending a week in ICU, and a month in the hospital. I don't recommend such a drastic program for everyone, and wouldn't want to go through it again myself. However, I can honestly say that she gets all the credit for a full 40 pounds of weight off my frame. This experience motivated me to find a new doctor, and I am a much healthier person now that I am no longer under her care.
