While listening to Marya on CFRB in Toronto she offered a glimmer of hope for those who suffer alone inside their minds fearing what tomorrow will bring. While living behind the many faces of bipolar in turmoil , pain, obsession, self destruction, anger ... and not able to understand why the fog won't lift. Wanting to understand something that is just out of grasp. Fearing the thought that you need med's to think straight and allow you to lead a better and happier life. So you turn to other "drugs" ... alcohol, illegal drugs, food anything to ease the disturbing self talk. Important in all this is congnitive behaviour therapy; learning to talk to yourself in a better, happier and more positive way.

Marya certainly offers first hand, from the heart information about a very troubling disorder. Bipolar has touched our lives directly. There are so many people suffering who need understanding; not to mention the families who are confused and don't really know how to cope. More research is very much needed.

Marya touched my heart.
