This is an excellent first book from from foreign policy analyst Mark Engler, beautifully written in a style which does not call upon the reader to have a degree in either Politics or Economics.

Amongst the many themes addressed, he draws attention to the importance, for all those seeking a more democratic and just world, of understanding the shift from Clintonian Corporate Globalisation to Bush's Imperial Globalisation since different responses are required in order to advance the Progressive cause most effectively.

Whilst warning of new dangers to come in the post-Bush era, Engler remains optimistic about further progress being made towards the dismemberment of the now discredited Neoliberal (and, in consequence, anti-democratic) ordering of the world economy.

There's plenty more positive stuff to say about this book, but I'd hate to spoil the fun for readers. Just go out and buy a copy and enjoy!
