When I picture what a first encounter should be like in my mind, Jack seems to be reading my mind. I like the fact that the Academy has rules that all explorers must follow. So, everytime there's a chance encounter with an alien lifeform he makes it seem like your right there in the story. It's exactly what I want when I pick up a book like this one. I know you'll enjoy reading Jack's books and you'll be starving for more.I suggest Omega next. His stories all have a way of bringing you into the book.
