I fear that the unlikely premise of the Oh Pure and Radiant Heart will scare readers away from the best book I have read in years. I know it sounds ridiculous: three scientists rise from the dead and one lucky librarian is drawn into the action. In reality, Millet carries the premise almost effortlessly, and in doing so sets up a platform for an hilarious work of stinging and thought-provoking satire.

You will hear it said elsewhere (and I can confirm that this is true): Millet recalls to mind Kurt Vonnegut, among others. The small, fractured blocks of text create a definitely pre-meditated impression on the reader's mind - that of the 'bigger picture'. If you are looking for entertaiment and stimulation, Millet offers a read that is both easy and fun, & challenging and relevent. This was my first Millet read, and I cannot wait to get my hands on another one.
