Yikes I just devoured this book in 4 hours. It isn't a funny book and it isn't a fun book but it is definitely a good book. Kathy Harrison writes about her experiences as a foster parent. She gives us the good, the bad, and the ugly which is as it should be. She then shares the story of their encounter with a very special child. Harrison isn't sticky sweet, overly sentimental, or melodramatic but you will cry buckets.
She shares some very stark and ugly truths about parenting and yet nuggets of goodness and light. Although I consider myself something of a cynic--I am not so hardened that this story didn't touch me and give me some hope
