A book of this type brings to mind that the reader must be a grad student or history professor, but I can assure you that I am neither. At first the task looked daunting, but I am so glad that I stayed with this book through the first 100 pages! So much information yet the author brought to life the times and events during this age. It was amazing to me how much of our history and the continuation of the republic was based on what appeared to be chance. Fasinating info and well presented.
