Skippy Dies by Paul Murray
Skippy Dies

AY, September 30, 2010

This was an impulse buy after skimming through a New York Times review. I've never heard of the author, and I was in the midst of reading a bunch of Swedish murder mysteries and needed a break. Maybe the title, 'Skippy Dies', with its backwards 'reveal the end of the story at the beginning' reminded me a little of Agnes Varda's Vagabond, and the Irish boarding school setting evoked a little bit of Harry Potter (without magic spells and whatnot). It's an excellent book. Read it.
