Black Beauty by Anna Sewell

I am a sure animal lover, and this novel is no disappointment. Although this novel does look like it might appeal to young readers, it may not be the best choice for some. This book is a heart-renching tale told by the horse himself, Black Beauty. This book is extremely well written and actually makes you believe the story was told by the horse. It is a novel that keeps you reading while in complete empathy for the horse. I LOVE IT!!

The Destined Queen by Deborah Hale
The Destined Queen

The sequel to The Wizard's Ward'. This book is quite slow at the beginning, but PLEASE do not make the mistake of putting this book down. The book quickly gets itself back on track, with even more twists than the first novel. This novel has got to be one of my most loved books so far. So if you are interested in this novel, you should DEFINITELY read it. (But make sure you read The Wizard's Ward first, you DO NOT want to miss it)

Midnight for Charlie Bone by Jenny Nimmo
Midnight for Charlie Bone

Aimie, November 21, 2006

I read this book a few years ago, and yet the storyline always sticks in my mind. Jenny Nimmo is a very creative and imaginative author. This is a great novel for readers around 13 or younger. Nevertheless, it is still an enjoyable read for some teens. Although this book is based on magic, some aspects can still be related to our own realities. A very interesting and 'out of this world' read.

The Wizard's Ward by Deborah Hale
The Wizard's Ward

This book proved to be much better than i expected. My sister bought this book for me soley based on the cover. Sure it has a great cover, but the inside, to my suprise is even better. The Destined Queen is a very enjoyable novel. Although the ending is slightly stereotypical, there are some unexpected twists and turns throughout. If you're up for a novel all about the strength of a woman's mind against everything, then this book is the one for you. Also, if you enjoy this, there is a sequel, The Destined Queen, Also a very enjoyable read.

The Charmed Sphere by Catherine Asaro
The Charmed Sphere

Aimie, November 21, 2006

This book is definitely the most AWESOME book i have ever read. It shows the dramatic difference a change of surroundings can make. Chime discovers a whole new type of life that she didn't know existed, and has to deal with fitting in with all of the other studing mages. I just love a enthralling read about a female lead finding her place in the world.
