While it does go long, the characters pull you in and the new twists and turns smooth over the rough spots. I'm desperately awaiting the next in the series.
I was hooked on page x! This book is anecdotal and conversational and full of the kind of tidbits one can drop at parties later. It's an overview of American English phrases and their history, dropping a lot of plain historical facts as it goes. I highly recommend it!
