The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay

Art Librarian, January 21, 2010

Full of period detail and fully realized characters, this is actually one of the best books I've EVER read. Documents the creative process, reveals a love story to touch you deeply, and makes you laugh out loud. A history of the development of the contemporary comic book superhero as well as of New York in the 30s. This is a book I have bought for and recommended to dozens of people. Just writing this makes me want to read it again.
