Mother and daughter alternated writing chapters about their travels together primarily in Greece. Each brought her perspective and insight about each other, sites, and fellow-travelers along the journey. It is a tender and loving memoir.
This is one of those books that is very hard to put down once started. The characters are well developed. They are people that I would enjoy being with. The time and setting offer a unique point of view of WWII. The letter writing format reminded me of 84 Charring Cross Rd., another engrossing story.
