The Drowning Tree by Carol Goodman
The Drowning Tree

BYavitt, August 15, 2007

The Drowning Tree was entertaining, but also predictable.I relished the references to poetry as it recalled my feelings about Tennysoon and Dante. "The Lady Of Shallot"which deals with Tennyson's questions of reality and what seems to be the truth and Dante's never slackening pace and his never simple allegory made the story of this novel a different vision of love. The problems of mental illness and the pieces of art(glass) made an interesting frame for the characters and mirrored their actions and intrerests.
