Easter Island by Jennifer Vanderbes
Easter Island

This book was the pick for One City, One Book in Pasadena this year and thought it had an interesting premise. I liked it, I did, but thought it a little short. The concept of three stories from two different periods in history building to climax was intriguing and did keep my interest as I wanted to know if and how they would intersect. The Arts and the Creation of Mind by Elliot W. Eisner
The Arts and the Creation of Mind

Barbra, October 9, 2008

I picked this book up when I started working as an art teacher two years ago. It was quite helpful in outlining how our minds work and how the various art forms effect it. In particular, I was looking for evaluating drawing at different age levels and how to help students improve their drawing skills and it very clearly explained it. I continue to pick the book up to this day as a reference guide.
