The Arborist by M. S. Holm
The Arborist

Ben Franklin Awards, November 11, 2008

A WARM, WONDERFUL STORY…
THE ARBORIST nicely elaborates on the theme of modern charity. How do we treat those in need? Why are we more charitable to the unnamed masses than to those desperate, shabby individuals we skulk past in the streets? This is a lovely holiday story that mixes a modern flavor with the traditional miracle tale. Filled with conundrums and perceptions of childhood, THE ARBORIST makes a good back-drop for numerous social issues and views without going overboard. It is a tale with a marvelously thoughtful and realistic message.
