This book is a tiny treasure written by the special assignments editor of The Toledo Blade, Dave Murray and illustrated by the newspaper's editorial cartoonist,Kirk Walters. The inspiration to write this tome came from a similar book written about London's colorful Mayor Boris Johnson.

Dave Murray chronicles the many stories of Toledo, Ohio's Mayor Carleton S. Finkbeiner or just Carty as he is known by most citizens of this All-American City. Stories well known to the Toledo Community. The last 10 pages are dedicated to a biography of Mayor Finkbeiner.

Mr. Finkbeiner states it best in his own words, "There are two kinds of politicians: those who put their heart and soul into their jobs and have the courage to do what they need to do without fear of what other people will think and those who don't." No matter what, Carty has stayed steadfast in his belief that the citizens of Toledo are what count the most. Whether they like it or not.

8 Steps to a Pain-Free Back: Natural Posture Solutions for Pain in the Back, Neck, Shoulder, Hip, Knee, and Foot by Esther Gokhale
8 Steps to a Pain-Free Back: Natural Posture Solutions for Pain in the Back, Neck, Shoulder, Hip, Knee, and Foot

Bev E., January 9, 2009

You know it when you see it. Perfect posture. The man waiting at the bus stop, the young woman carrying her toddler, perhaps the person who just sat next to you in the waiting room. Ester Gokhale's book, 8 Steps to a Pain-Free Back, teaches the reader through candid photos posture; both the wrong and the correct way to move, to stand and sit.
Back pain can be life altering. Surgery is rarely the answer. This is a book to both study and to enjoy as a logical aproach to a pain free back.

Addiction: Why Can't They Just Stop? by John Hoffman
Addiction: Why Can't They Just Stop?

Bev E., December 16, 2008

Why Can't They Just Stop? Addiction. This book asks and answers the questions many have us have about this devastating disease. Unfortunately just as many, don't care. The stigma of addiction still holds fast today, with many thinking it is a moral failing, a matter of will power, a sign of anti social behavior.

Why Can't They Just Stop? As if someone could stop being a diabetic or rid themselves of cancer if they only wanted to. This book should be found on every doctor's shelf and in every classroom because one of the ways to treat this disease is to understand it. To finally give a bit of compassion to those who suffer from it.

This book deserves more than a 5 point rating, read it and I think you'll agree.
