My book club read this book and it was definitely one of our favorites. I really like books that integrate real history with fictional story and the author did a great job at this. The author wrote vividly, beautifully as he described the main character's immigration from Vietnam, the experience of being "the other" in the United States, and the excited journey up I-5 to Japan and finally to Vietnam as the main character finds what he is searching for - himself. Great book for bikers AND people interested in exploring American stories that often don't get told.
