Taibo's character is a likeable detective with only one eye. Who would play this guy in a movie remake, I wonder...the picture in my mind is a grizzled old man. He seems to have no problem with the ladies however, and his pet ducks add an element of comedy to his home life. An excellent mystery.

So far so good. The best thing so far? The anti-hero is a magazine publisher and journalist. He's just been convicted of libel, sentenced to 90 days in gaol, so how will the plot move forward? With the tattooed girl, of course...
