Hitch-22: A Memoir by Christopher Hitchens
Hitch-22: A Memoir

Brian Gutowski, January 3, 2012

Christopher Hitchens (don't call him Chris) writes a wonderful memoir about growing up in post-war Britain. He reveals many personal insights and realities about British schooling in the 50's, Oxford in the 60's (includes encounters with certain Americans who don't inhale), becoming a journalist in the 70's, and his growing reputation in the 80's through today.

Many of his obituaries seem to focus on his atheism, but -as with all of us- he is much more than this.

In the middle of wars, religious debates (more closely related than you would think), and lots of alcohol and cigarettes - Mr. Hitchens takes us inside his life and reveals the man beyond the lede.

We will miss you Mr. Hitchens.
