The best boy/dog book after "My Dog Skip."And really, is there anything more endearing that a boy with a dog? Well, yes: a boy with two dogs.
Add the country vistas and sounds, plus the love of Billy's family, and you have a swift read that fills your heart.
Brings back some of my fondest memories -- of hiking with my beagle through the mountains. Nothing like that feeling of freedom. I recall it vividly, as does Billy from beginning to end.
