Wizard of the Crow by Ngugi wa'Thiong'o
Wizard of the Crow

CM, January 2, 2012

This story is a mirror for those of us living in "western industrialized nations." The narrative is lyrical and poetic, at times wandering through ideas without forcing a particular conclusion. At other times the concerns of characters are exposed directly, assertively. Each page poses questions and provocative notions. It is a long story and well worth the read. Settle into it and learn something about yourself you never knew. More importantly, learn something about people who you may yet meet.
