My husband and I found this book at the recommendation of the day care director. Because we are therapists, we thought we should already be able to parent properly, but after a year of frustration, I finally broke down and bought this book. It took three days of using the techniques in this book to achieve drastic improvement. This edition is especially useful because it has an index listing reasonable behavior expectations, consequences and rewards for children according to age. We have used it for over twenty years to help ourselves and other parents regain control of their lives and maintain sanity. The book also explains how to achieve sucess at your home even if parents are single parents or divorced. I highly recommend this book.
