This is a great read! Walls is able to give us a page turning account of her very unusual upbringing. What I liked best is that this was far from being a pity-party (something all too common in today's memoirs). She doesn't ask us to feel sorry for her or even understand her based on her childhood - she just shares it. Her family members are unforgettable characters and she aptly blends their shortcomings and virtues into multidimensional characters.
