As a bibliophile I can only imagine encountering book stacks that reach the heights of those in Mr. Penumbra's store. What the new clerk finds in these stacks, however, is nothing short of a wild romp through a world shrouded in mystery. What secret is it that the loyal patrons of this nocturnal store seek? Step across the threshold and find out...
A fascinating look into a much debated and highly controversial religion, Inside Scientology is both engrossing and eye-opening. Beginning with the early history of founder L. Ron Hubbard and following the organization/church through present day, we are given insight into this religion of the stars. Perhaps you could call it an audit of the church itself. Both well-written and painstakingly researched, this book is a must read!
One of the most entertaining memoirs I have read in a long time. Allison Arngrim approaches life's highs and lows with intelligence and humor. I would highly recommend this to anyone, even if you weren't a fan of Little House on the Prairie. What a treat!
They say that good things come in small packages. Nothing demonstrates that more than this beautiful, simple story. Siobhan Dowd would be proud of what Patrick Ness has created with her original concept. Pull out your kleenex and prepare for a important journey that reminds us all of the awesome, and sometimes destructive, power of personal truth. Regardless of where you find yourself in your own life story, this is a tale not to be missed!
Angels and Demons and Chimera.....oh my! From Laini Taylor comes an exciting new addition to YA fiction that will appeal to both young and old alike. Taylor takes us on a journey that has her main character, Karou, questioning not only her identity, but the very fabric of the world she thinks she knows so well. Who is Karou and what part does she play in the salvation, or damnation, of the world? Only the next installments in this series will tell and I, for one, can't wait!
