The Rebel: An Essay on Man in Revolt by Albert Camus
The Rebel: An Essay on Man in Revolt

Chloe Donaldson, January 1, 2013

This is probably the most illuminating book I've read all year, and one of the best books I've read, period. I heard Camus described as eminently decent, and that is really the best way to explain his work. It comes from a place of great clear-sightedness and decency. His ability to examine all of the diverse ideas and events he covers in the book, make connections, and critically evaluate ideas with striking objectivity is incredible!

Haunted: A Novel by Chuck Palahniuk
Haunted: A Novel

The best book of the decade. It is crass. It is vulgar. It is disgusting. But... it's simply brilliant and everyone should read it. Everyone. Except the emotionally challenged and those who suffer from weak stomachs.
