I've only read the excerpt which I did not care for at first but begun to like as I read more of it.
Guild Wars, in case you did not know, is a Massive Multiplayer On-line Role Playing Game(MMORPG) game with wonderful graphics on a site run by ArenaNet. In my opinion, it is so good, that many people find that it can become somewhat addictive. There are no monthly fees, simply buying the game box lets you play as much as you want.
It is a social game, and although you can play all by yourself with computer generated companions called henchmen, it is most fun if you form adventurers parties of 4 to 8 people.
So this work is another example of a book based on a computer game. It's a difficult work to pull off successfully. Those unfamiliar with the game will approach it very differently from those who have played the game.
In this excerpt the protagonist is allied with a group of non-humans as they wind their way through an underground crypt. I was disappointed when the excerpt ended because I was drawn into the story.
