Hilariously politically incorrect. The 'patients' at the 'hospital' are so uninhibited in their honesty.
All of the characters are so believable - we all know someone like them. Jack Dolan's mysterious identity is woven into the story brilliantly and the twist at the end is clever. I almost quit reading the book after the first couple of pages, wondering what I had gotten myself into reading - then the PMS Outlaws, the vigilantes, came on the scene. I'll definitely read all of McCrumb's work.
A very enjoyable read. The quilting references were especially interesting to someone who sews. It made me feel more confident about quilting and makes me want to visit a place like Elm Creek. I adore the characters and enjoyed the history lessons woven into the story.

I want to know what happens next.I could relate to each of the four characters. I could feel their regrets, their sorrows, and their fears.
I will definitely read all of Henkin's works.
