The Hiding Place is my second favorite book in the world. I read thousands of pages a year. I go back to The Hiding Place at least once a year. Each page and each word, has been specifically placed in order to build on the idea of God's redemption even in in the world's most horrendous places. Corrie, is the fiesty one in her family and her sister is sickningly sugar sweet. The story is set amongst the Dutch in World War 2. Corrie's family is famous for hiding the jews during the war. I still envision Corrie's, Father...opening his amazing Bible. At such an old age, he declared, "I will hide the jews from Nazi's.. We will hide them in our home. I welcome God's people.." Corrie and her family fought for the fragrance of Jesus to cover the holocaust. Corrie had to deal with forgiveness at a level that very few of us experience. Her family suffered everything, for the safety and well being of those they felt called to serve. There is NO other book on earth written like The Hiding Place..I learn more about history, Jesus Theology all through the eyes of a simple dutch watch/clock maker.
