I fell in love with Kenny Shopsin and his family from the first time I laid eyes (and ears) on them in the documentary "I Like Killing Flies." You can imagine my joy in discovering that he had a book out. It's 100% Kenny Shopsin (well, except that he co-authored it with Carolyn Carreno but that's beside the point). I've read it from cover to cover and now I'm working on the recipes. His 'words of wisdom' are just that. Straight to the point, no bull, take it or leave it. He makes no excuses and he doesn't have to. Even if you don't cook at all, buy this book. Spending an afternoon with Kenny and his family is worth it.
