The Enchantress of Florence by Salman Rushdie
The Enchantress of Florence

Diane Cliffe, January 1, 2012

Classic Rushdie. A 1001 stories in one tidy, or not so tidy, package. Romance, adventure, history, fantasy...it has everything you could ask for in a book.

True Notebooks: A Writer's Year at Juvenile Hall by Mark Salzman
True Notebooks: A Writer's Year at Juvenile Hall

Diane Cliffe, September 1, 2011

True Notebooks is an incredibly moving memoir of one man's experience working with the young men in a juvenile corrections center for violent offenders. His fears and joys, his teaching and learning, his failures and triumphs. The book reminded me that no one is a lost cause and that we should raise up rather than throw away our children. For, really, they're *all* our children.
