Do Unto Otters: A Book about Manners by Laurie Keller
Do Unto Otters: A Book about Manners

Diane Crowley, January 9, 2013

Not only is the story line depicted well, the illustrations are fabulous. Laurie Keller does a great job depicting character traits important in getting along with others, including Mr. Rabbit and his new neighbors, The Otters. I love this book and used it daily working with children in an elementary school. After reading the book on two different ocassions to third grade students the teachers and I had a book writing contest. Students had to write and illustrate their own books, include three manners in their story, and the setting had to be in a school.
A must read for parents, teachers, children and families. Getting along with others, being curious about differnces and respecting those differences, and identfying the character traits that promote all of these concepts are depicted with great illustrations.
