Burroughs sucks you right into the back allies of New York, and into the life of the user. He makes it clear the body doesn't want the drug, it needs it to survive. Junky gets to the staunch reality of being in the world of heroin and drugs, and doesn't glamorize it one bit. It is a way of life, not just a needle in the arm.

There are far too many reasons to list why this book is a crucial read for all people. It isn't a book about getting one over on someone, or sly ways to get what you want. It is a book on how to be a nicer happier person and in doing so will effect those around you. His stories are fun to read and easy to relate to. Read it and love it!!

There are far too many reasons to list why this book is a crucial read for all people. It isn't a book about getting one over on someone, or sly ways to get what you want.
