The Traveler: The First Novel of the Fourth Realm Trilogy by John Twelve Hawks
The Traveler: The First Novel of the Fourth Realm Trilogy

Don Wright, September 29, 2006

I just finished "The Traveler" and enjoyed the ride as well as the read. I don't know that it's as important as "1984", "Brave New World" or "Fahrenheit 451" but the admonition to think critically and be aware of our surroundings is especially apt in our world of electronic transactions, omnipresent advertising and election polls. It's the kind of thing I like to be reminded of. I enjoyed the paranoid atmosphere of the storyline and was reminded of "Repairman Jack" and his "you aren't being paranoid if they really are out to get ya" perspective. I was a bit put off by the whole "who is Twelve Hawks?" thing. I assume it's a publicity stunt, but it detracts/distracts from the story. In spite of my comment regarding the identity of the author, I can't resist: Is it just me or does Twelve Hawks read a lot like F. Paul Wilson?
