Protector by Laurel Dewey
Protector

Protector is one of the finest debut novels I've ever read. Laurel Dewey has created a masterful, compelling and thought-provoking story that literally kept me thinking for days after I finished the book.

This is not just a great mystery/thriller. This is a book that forces the reader to question their own lives and to explore the reality outside of what we perceive to be "real." I think what makes Protector so dynamic is that it effortlessly blends a well-develoed crime thriller with a strong, character-driven story that is encased in a metaphysical realm. I've never read anything close to this before. Dewey deftly explores the mystical side of life without forcing it down the reader's throat. Her hardcore heroine, Detective Jane Perry, is the perfect foil for the drama and someone who we root for to the bitter end.

I want to read MORE books by Laurel Dewey! Well done!!!
