This is one of the better books of the coming-of-age/humor genre that I have read. Possibly the best. Mr. Doyle perfectly captures the spirit of the teen movies from the eighties and nineties. If you were ever a fan of 'Can't buy me love' (the movie, not the song) 'Risky Business', or 'Revenge of the Nerds', or if you happen to have been a teenager when those movies were made, then this book is you.
Four out of five stars for predictable ending.
Warning: Read the book before the movie comes out. Why they would make a teen movie based on a book that is a pastiche of teen movies is beyond me. Hollywood, go figure.
