A page turner!...reads like a friend is telling you juicy details about their marriage and life...just when you think you have figured out what happens next, BAM! a twist is revealed...can't wait to see the film and hope it lives up to the book...fine writing and makes me want to read more by this author...

Let's Pretend This Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir by Jenny Lawson
Let's Pretend This Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir

Gayle Hardman, February 24, 2013

Thought I had some wild experiences and issues, but mine seem very tame compared to hers!...A definite page turner and no problem if you want to skip around to different chapters since her life is anything BUT organized! WILL laugh out loud!...and you may even shed a tear about some of her more personal struggles...She is a funny, unique, strong young woman/wife/mom and a very talented writer who writes about what she knows best...herself. You won't be sorry you bought this book...She is also a well known blogger,so you can get a daily dose while you wait for her next book...Enjoy!

The Killer Within: In the Company of Monsters. Philip Carlo
The Killer Within: In the Company of Monsters. Philip Carlo

Gayle Hardman, August 28, 2011

Because it is written on the inside jacket I am not giving anything away by saying this is more about the author dealing with ALS,a terminal illness than about the infamous killers and criminals which were the subjects of his previous books. This is a very personal book which is inspiring to writers and the public in general about living life to the fullest as best you can when dealing with a debilitating disease.

It was a quick read for me because the more I read the more I wanted to learn about the author's past, why he wrote about the subjects he did and how he managed to forge on writing until completion of this book two months before his death.

Philip Carlo was an engaging person and writer who was not caught up in "celebrity"...I look forward to reading his previous books and to see the film, "The Ice Man" when it is released....well worth reading!

Still Missing by Chevy Stevens
Still Missing

The author puts you right there throughout the book...if you have a pulse, then you will have a visceral reaction to many chapters...some may be put off by the main character's swearing, but the author understands the "why" behind it...the language enhances the realism of the character's say this is a "page turner" is to say the least...I said "whoa!" many times and didn't want the book to end...the author hit this one out of the park and it is her debut novel!...can't wait to read her latest
