Our 5 year old daughter loves this book and so do we. There is a wonderful selection of poems from sophisticated to silly, and the illustrations are charming (though my husband thinks that the cover looks "cheesy" and he is particularly disturbed by that because it gives a false impression of what terrific things are in store inside). We had been reading these poems to her ourselves for weeks and loving them. I put the CD on the other day, though, and my daughter listened to the entire disk, following along in the book. We listened right along with her, as it's magical to hear the historical recordings of Langston Hughes, Ogden Nash, Robert Frost, J.R.R. Tolkien, Roald Dahl and many others reading their own poems. I highly recommend this book!
