I raised my daughter using this book, and as long as I followed her advice things turned out fine. When I deviated, I ran into problems (like NOT listening to Leach, and trying someone else's poddy training instructions. Disaster). This is a sane, compassionate program for raising and understanding children. I read all the rest, (Spock, Brazelton, etc) but her advice worked and made sense. Her explanation of the difference between spoiling and loving is simple and brilliant, and enough reason alone to buy the book.
