Read this years ago and I think it inspired a new dialogue about our agriculture & food system, government programs and environmental issues, as well as a contemporary book & movie list related and also pushed the discussion into a more mainstream culture (i.e. Omnivore's Dilemma, Food Inc., Supersize Me, Eating Animals). A definite must-read.
