I haven't yet met a child who did not love this book. The Strawberry Snatcher really wants those strawberries, but the Grey Lady is determined to take them home to her family. A story told in imaginative pictures leaves its "readers" smiling with satisfaction.

This book was invaluable to me as a parent and as a teacher and director of a childcare center. I recommend it again and again.
The power of these techniques was demonstrated when children in my classes would tell their parents that "you don't have to yell when you're angry; J was angry and she didn't yell or simply, "That's not how J [tells us that we are behaving unacceptably]."
The techniques take practice, but help develop relationships that promote self-discipline in children.

When it became clear to me that I was rearing a gifted child, I knew I needed guidance.
I found this book and it was my guide as I worked to understand and deal with the resultant social, emotional, and intellectual needs of that gifted child and her brother (also gifted) as they made their ways through nursery schools, elementary and high schools.
If you are rearing a gifted child, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

When my daughter was young, she discovered this book in the library. We borrowed it so frequently that we eventually decided to purchase our own copy. Every child with whom I have shared it has been entranced from page one - and has requested that it be read again and again and again.

I have introduced many children and adults to this book, and all are delighted. I go back to it regularly and my children enjoy it again and again - with every visit home (They are now in their mid-twenties) Every elementary school teacher should have a copy!
