An easy, fun and quirky read. If you've ever visited The Tower of London, this book will take you right back there!

The Help by Kathryn Stockett
The Help

JillS, January 1, 2011

Loved this book! I fell into the story on page two and couldn't put it down. The characters were well developed and I truly cared what happened to each. One of the best books I read in 2010.

The Help by Kathryn Stockett
The Help

JillS, September 4, 2010

This book actually sat on my shelf for months before I finally relented to the gold cover and started reading. I had resisted because everyone (including my mother) was singing its praises. They were right and I should have succumbed to literary peer pressure earlier. I was hooked by page two and truly cared about the characters from the start. I was deeply involved with this book and only when I finished realized I spent the entire night in the same chair having only moved to turn the pages. This is a must read and I'll be on the lookout for any future books by Kathryn Stockett.

The Knitchicks' Guide to Sweaters: Classic Styles for the Modern Knitter by Marcelle Karp
The Knitchicks' Guide to Sweaters: Classic Styles for the Modern Knitter

JillS, July 17, 2010

I was shocked to see the publication date as 2009 as none of the patterns are even remotely in style. I cannot imagine knitting anything out of this book without having to heavily adapt the pattern.

Club Dead (Sookie Stackhouse Novels) by Charlaine Harris
Club Dead (Sookie Stackhouse Novels)

JillS, May 11, 2010

A fast paced fun romp with vampires and werewolves...what a fun read! This is the third in the Southern Vampire series and it was just as good as the first two books. The heroine, Sookie, returns as sassy as ever. This time she's upset with her recently kidnapped vampire boyfriend, Bill. The help of a werewolf is enlisted to find Bill, but Sookie finds herself attracted to him. She's torn between were and vamp on her adventure. Who will she choose? Check it out!
