A Lady Cyclist's Guide to Kashgar by Suzanne Joinson
A Lady Cyclist's Guide to Kashgar

Loved, loved, loved the juxtaposition of two women--one in early 20th century Central Asia and the other in modern-day London. Both absorbing cultures not their own, both rescuers. Want more from the author!

The Leopard by Jo Nesbo
The Leopard

Joan B, January 7, 2012

The Leopard is absolutely the best Harry Hole book yet!!! Jo Nesbo has become one of my favorite authors, and his latest book superbly contrasts the flawed, disturbed Harry with his noble instincts. Parts of the book are gruesome, but the end, with Harry having solved a particularly convoluted set of murders, leaves one hope that he will be back.

Read how a politically incorrect children's book was the inspiration for the products of a quirky candy company. Read how the Ziplinskys -- of Zip's Candies -- either love or antagonize Alice Tatnall, who comes in for a simple job and stays for a lifetime. Read the back stories of major American candy companies still in business today. Read and laugh -- I loved this book!
