Being in Christ and Putting Death in Place (06 Edition) by Richardson
Being in Christ and Putting Death in Place (06 Edition)

Joan Hunt, September 23, 2011

Dr. Richardson examines the varied ways that South American Catholics and (U.S.)Southern Baptists approach the question of death and does so with academic rigor, unflinching honesty, true humanity, and refreshing humor.

Harold and the Purple Crayon (Purple Crayon Books) by Crockett Johnson
Harold and the Purple Crayon (Purple Crayon Books)

Joan Hunt, September 21, 2011

Draw up a chair and experience the reality created, sometimes consciously and sometimes not, by Harold using his purple crayon. Harold can intentionally depict what he needs or wants, but he can also accidently sketch a scary world. His ability to transform the troublesome into the tranquil is both inspiring (and, inspired) and remarkably satisfying.

More Ant and Bee: Another Alphabetical Story

Joan Hunt, May 14, 2008

The small colorful hardbacks in the Ant and Bee series chronicle the delightfully wacky adventures of lively ANT and sensible BEE. Key words for each charming picture are texted in RED, so that even very young children are gently nudged in the direction of reading. In the second alphabetical story, More Ant and Bee, our hatted heroes travel to Asia. As always, it is good that BEE always remembers to carry his UMBRELLA.
