1632 (Assiti Shards) by Eric Flint
1632 (Assiti Shards)

John DeBlanc, October 13, 2011

The beginning of quite possibly the most innovative series ever. Basic premise, town and all of it's surroundings including coal mines and coal burning power plant get transported to 1632 in the middle of the 30 year war in Europe. High Drama, comedy and sheer enjoyment ensue. Then Eric Flint, through sheer genius and laziness is actually promoting fanfic and publishing it in later volumes. Actually kicking off the careers of more than a few new writers. And what's best? They just keep coming! There are dedicated webpages, a subscription service for the latest Grantville Gazette as of 10/13/11 on number 38! Continuing sagas as well as single shot stories, all around. GREAT STUFF!
